She has adventures discovering treasures in her Grandmother's hope chest. In each book, her grandmother teaches her how to create one of the items in the hope chest. Detailed instructions and fantastic illustrations weave the project into the story. These are sweet, lovely, distinctly Christian books that any girl will love. It just doesn't get any more charming than this.

In The Running Rooster, Lucy's grandmother comes to live with her family. Grandmother shares the treasures of her hope chest with Lucy and when Lucy expresses an interest in learning to sew, Grandmother teaches her some of the basics. Lucy puts her new skills to good use as she creates a hand-sewn potholder embroidered with a simple running rooster.
