The Princess and the Kiss (for girls) and The Squire and the Scroll (for boys) stand out as true jewels in our home library. They manage to present important principles about emotional and physical purity in a gentle, inspiring way. Purity is held up as a beautiful virtue to be treasured and honored. It is soooo much better to inspire our children to greatness than it is to try to push and prod them toward it, and these two books do as fine a job of inspiring as I have ever seen! The corresponding Life Lessons books (see below) are magnificent and not to be missed if you want your children to embrace the principles of purity.
The Princess and the Kiss tells the story of a lovely princess who was given the gift of her first kiss on the day she was born. This was a precious gift that she protected and held safe until the day she could give it to her husband. As she matured into lovely young womanhood, many suitors came and vied for the gift of that dear first kiss. Each claimed to be the best because he was rich, or strong, or handsome - but were any of them truly worthy? Rejoice as the princess finally finds the one who is worthy of her first kiss - and who saved his first kiss for her.
This is much more than a book about first kisses. It is incredibly rich with teaching about every kind of purity. It is in picture book format and very young little girls will love it, but because of the exquisite illustrations and lovely language, it will appeal to sweet girls of any age. If you want to raise a young lady who is feminine and pure, then you and your daughter will love this book. Please don't miss the Life Lessons book below!
