This book covers one pocket each for:
1) Introduction to Colonial America 2) The First Settlements 3) The Native Americans 4) Homes and Villages 5) Daily Life, School 6) Work 7) Memorable People
Each pocket contains illustrated background pages, art and/or craft projects (note: this are interesting and meaningful projects), writing activities, and more. The entire book is reproducible and contains all of the forms, patterns, templates, etc., that you will need. This book is an ideal resource for anyone doing a unit, notebook, or lapbook on the colonial period. Highly recommended!!
The publishers recommend this book for grades 4-6, but we have used it very successfully with older and younger children. It covers some of the topics covered in History Pockets: Life in Plymouth Colony (see Recommended Resources, below), but this title continues on later into history than the Plymouth title. Some families combine the Plymouth title with the Plymouth portions of this book, then use the rest of this book to continue their American History studies.
