Do math with an abacus:  Your child will make a wooden abacus and use it to do math the Chinese way!

Paint 2 Kokeshi dolls:  The children who test our kits were so delighted by making these tiny, hand-painted wooden Japanese dolls that they didn't want to stop with just one, so we are putting two in every kit.

Make some beautiful batik:  Your child will enjoy practicing the ancient Indian art of batik with the materials included in this kit.

Practice graceful Chinese Calligraphy:  Every character in Chinese calligraphy has its own special meaning.  Your child will learn the meaning of several characters and learn how to combine them to make other characters.  Once he has mastered the art of painting these characters on our included worksheets, he will be able to paint them on real rice paper!

Turn wool into felt:  The Mongolians mastered the art of turning wool into durable, waterproof felt which they used for their yurts (tent-like homes).  We have put an ample supply of raw wool so your child can experience the rewarding task of felt-making.

Fold some origami:  We couldn't possibly make a Far East kit without including origami, so we have two fun and child-friendly origami projects for your children to do.  Our children enjoyed them so much that they spent an entire afternoon using scrap paper to do the projects over and over again!
