**Please note that the Theme Pockets line of books has been re-titled Making Books with Pockets. The covers have changed, but the contents of the books are the same.**
Each Making Books with Pockets title covers three complete themes. Several topics are covered for each theme. The themes covered in this title are:
1. America the Beautiful: Learn about the American flag, daily life in American in the past and in the present, the Statue of Liberty and immigrants, "America the Beautiful," and more. This is the perfect unit for any patriotic holidays or to add to a notebook of American history studies.
2. Space: Topics include "Our Solar System" (planets, comets, meteors, and asteroids), Sun, Moon, and Stars; and Space Travel. Write poetry about outer space, make a planets flip book, and much more. Anything dealing with outer space is a real winner with most children and this is a delightful way to explore this theme. You can use this as a stand-alone unit or to enhance an astronomy or space travel notebook.
3. Transportation: Learn about air transportation, land transportation, and sea transportation. Create and test some paper airplanes, make some vehicle-shaped books, and more. This unit is sure to be a winner with any little boy!!
This book is packed full of reproducibles like writing patterns, templates and instructions for art and craft projects, clip art, shaped book forms, mini books, literature lists, etc. It is recommended for grades 1-3 but is easily adaptable for younger or older children, especially when the material is being used to enhance a more comprehensive study of the given topic.
