This book is one of my favorites and is our absolute top selling product. Many homeschoolers who are not studying American history like to take a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving or during summer to touch on our nation's beginnings. This book can easily be used for either a short unit study or a much longer, more detailed unit.

Colonial America History Pockets (see "Related Products" below) touches on some of the same information as this book but covers a longer time period and a broader scope of subjects. Many families use Colonial America History Pockets as a follow-up to Life in Plymouth Colony when studying this time period in depth as the projects in each book are unique and do not repeat between books; while others have their younger children use the Plymouth Colony book and the older children (up to age 11 or 12) use the Colonial America book. We consider both books to be perfectly suitable for all elementary ages, but the Plymouth Colony book is written at a slightly younger level then the Colonial America book.
