This incredible Bible story book is produced by DK and is absolutely stunning.  It contains almost 150 beautifully retold Bible stories.  These are retellings, but the language is similar to the actual Bible text.  We find that once we read a story from this book, we can follow it with a reading from the KJV and even our young children are well able to understand.  Not only is language wonderful, but the illustrations are nothing short of breathtaking.  The sidebars are filled with photos of artifacts, people, settings, and so forth, along with maps, drawings, etc.  This all works together with the text to help children grasp the stories bring them to life without being "childish" or silly.  Each major section such as Life in Egypt, Life in Cannan, etc. is prefaced with several pages of information and background.  We think this is far and away the top Bible story book on the market.  Bedtime reading doesn't get any better than this!  This is truly a gift that will keep on giving.
